Continuing with our selection of curated photos from the Your Best Shot 2015 group,
we’re presenting our favorite images that ask you to look a little bit
further to the left and to the right to take it all in. While not all of
the images are technically panos, we felt these images stood out and we
loved the perspective they took.

"We're
going to have 21st century fireside chats where I'll speak directly to
the American people in a way that I think will enhance democracy and
strengthen our government." - Senator Barack Obama, November 15, 2007
Tomorrow evening, President Obama will deliver his final State of the Union address to Congress, which will broadcast live on YouTube. Then, as he has every year after the speech, he’ll turn to YouTube and Google to take questions from Americans about the issues that matter to them.
This Friday, January 15, Destin Sandlin, Ingrid Nilsen, and Adande Thorne—three popular YouTube creators—will travel to Washington, D.C. to host a live YouTube Interview with President Obama. They’ll join the President in the East Room of the White House, asking a selection of questions that are top of mind for them and their fans. You can watch the whole thing on the White House YouTube channel—and if you have a question for the President, suggest it by using the hashtag #YouTubeAsksObama on social media.
The interview will stream live on the White House YouTube channel on Friday, January 15 at 2:15 p.m. EST. And don’t forget to tune in on January 12 at 9 p.m. EST to watch the State of the Union address live, as well as the Republican response, live on YouTube.
Throughout his time in office, President Obama has used technology to open up the doors (all 412 of them) to the White House—from posting behind-the-scenes photos of life in the West Wing to uploading a weekly address on the most pressing topics facing the nation. We’re excited to have played a role in this process with our seven YouTube Interviews, tackling issues big and small, poignant and personal. We look forward to helping future presidents connect with Americans in compelling ways.

we’re mourning the loss of one of the most complete artists music has
ever known. David Bowie may have left us, but his genius will continue

Get visibility for your photos in these Alcatel Flickr groups

We are excited to give the Flickr community a great way to gain
exposure for your photography. Flickr and Yahoo have partnered with
Alcatel, one of the world’s leading telecommunications companies, to
showcase the best photography from our community to Alcatel users on
their smartphones.
Specifically, Alcatel is looking to promote photos from Flickr members on their smartphone wallpaper and lock screens. The Flickr photos they choose from their Flickr groups will get wide visibility on phones throughout the world.
Similar to previous activations like the Yahoo Project Weather group, Alcatel has created an open submission group, where Flickr members can upload their photos for possible inclusion on Alcatel phones. They have set the limit to 5 photos per week and are specifically looking for quality images across ten categories, including Art, Architecture, Black & White, Food & Drink, Cars, Nature, Pets, Space, Travel, and Urban (streets, architecture, etc).
Photos should meet the basic size minimum stated in the group and should not contain watermarks, borders, signatures, logos, or time stamps. Be sure to tag the photos with the proper category for easier curation by the Alcatel group admins. Flickr members will be credited on the lock screens with links to your photos on Flickr.

From the open submission pool, Alcatel will then invite their favorites to a select group curated specifically for the activation. As always, read the rules of the group and understand the license you would be providing as part of the activation.
We hope you’ll join the groups and we look forward to hearing your feedback in the group discussions.
